Part of the language I wanted to evoke was the language of European cinema from the sixties and seventies. Not only Italian cinema, but also people like Robert Bresson, Ozu, and Kurosawa. But, yes, the Italian directors were very present, like Ermanno Olmi, Vittorio De Seta, and Francesco Rosi, particularly with his film Cristo si è fermato a Eboli.
