Yeah, it’s not really leaving me, and it never will, because it’s so much a part of who I am, and it’s always an attempt to try to explore what melodrama meant at different points in its history. I mean, Douglas Sirk and Fassbinder, the people that I look up to, were doing that in a very self-reflexive way.
