Edgar Wright
Edgar Howard Wright (born 18 April 1974) is an English filmmaker. He is known for his fast-paced and kinetic, satirical genre films, which feature extensive utilisation of expressive popular music, Steadicam tracking shots, dolly zooms and a signature editing style that includes transitions, whip pans and wipes. I wanted to make a psychological thriller that paid homage to the giallo films of Dario Argento, particularly 'Deep Red' and 'The Bird with the Crystal Plumage'.
We watched Point Break and Lethal Weapon 2 and Bad Boys II and Hard Boiled and all of those kind of films, so we really immersed ourselves in that world. Then we started taking elements of that.
