Fernando Ferreira Meirelles (Brazilian Portuguese: [feʁˈnɐ̃du mejˈɾɛlis]; born 9 November 1955) is a Brazilian filmmaker. He is best known for co-directing the film City of God, released in 2002 in Brazil and in 2003 in the U.S.
