Synopsis
A bravado period action film set at the end of Japan's feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a war-torn future.

Kurosawa is definitely one of the biggest influences for me. Especially with 'Ran,' the way he presented battle scenes and the drama of the people in the middle of it. When I was making '13 Assassins,' I definitely had 'Ran' in mind for its grand scale and attention to detail.
