Synopsis

Nine fictitious documentaries and films reflect the mood of late 1970s Germany, particularly the two-month period in 1977 when a businessman was kidnapped by the RAF (Red Army Faction). The kidnap had been made to orchestrate the release of the original leaders of the RAF, aka the Baader-Meinhof.

Cinema Atlas Connection
Yes, absolutely. It's not a film that I would have thought of in making Happy End, but I've always admired it. It was made by a number of German filmmakers reacting to the rise of terrorism in the 1970s. I find the film very interesting, and I’m sure it did have an influence on me, even if unconsciously.
