Synopsis
Obsessive master thief Neil McCauley leads a top-notch crew on various daring heists throughout Los Angeles while determined detective Vincent Hanna pursues him without rest. Each man recognizes and respects the ability and the dedication of the other even though they are aware their cat-and-mouse game may end in violence.

I am a big fan of Melville. There is an an existential nature to his films and a specific kind of characterization. It’s hard to say what influence is, but I think the professionalism in Le Samourai has influenced me in all my work, including Heat. I think it’s about that level of dedication, the almost monastic life of the professional.
