Synopsis

London, the early 1950s. Born deaf, Mandy is mute for most of her childhood. As she reaches school age her family itself is in danger of breaking up. Christine, Mandy's mother, has heard of a residential school for the oral education of the deaf.

I've always been influenced by Dario Argento's Suspiria and Inferno for their sheer delirium, and the way they play with colour... I also wanted it to feel like a sort of lost film, a sort of fever dream, and the visual delirium of Argento's films, like Inferno, really informed that.
