In the Milan of the economic boom, Maria Boccuzzi –aka Marinella –is a young Calabrian in search of redemption. At just 16 years old, she runs away from home for love, but that choice leads her down a path of solitude, marginalization and broken dreams. Abandoned and without ties, she ends up in prostitution, continuing to pursue her desire to become a dancer. It is precisely that hope, never extinguished, that leads her to death at the hands of a mysterious man. Marinella will not have justice, but telling her story is an act of rebellion: a way to give her the dignity that life has denied her.
