The film chronicles Perceval's knighthood, maturation and eventual peerage amongst the Knights of the Round Table, and also contains brief episodes from the story of Gawain and the crucifixion of Christ.
I watched all of Rohmer’s films. One of my favorites is Perceval le Gallois, which is a really unique film of his, because it’s a period piece. It’s theater, but it’s cinema. It’s very strange, because it’s a film that’s very artificial. And I like the artificiality of it. This film probably inspired me in some ways, not directly, but I really like this film. Rohmer is one of my favorite directors.
