Cinematic Threads
Chris Marker and his movie ‘Sans Soleil’ was a massive influence on the editing of the movie. That’s probably the closest I could get to what I was talking about. It’s an essay film, but it weaves together the philosophical, the political, the personal, the mundane, and the epic using narration and these fragmented images that jump all over the place. That kind of spirit was something we really tried to emulate, even if the content is obviously completely different.
