The wonderful Chabrol made a film called LA FEMME INFIDELE which this film UNFAITHFUL is based on. I saw it twenty-odd years ago, maybe even longer, and loved it. When it came to me again as a script, I reread the script and thought about the original and thought 'This is a way I can do an erotic film that is slightly different than other films that I’ve done.'
