Thank you for bringing that film up [Elem Klimov's Come and See (1985)], because that is truly one of the films that I think inspired me to want to be a filmmaker. That film, if you have seen it, it brings you into the trauma, it gives you a first-hand experience of what trauma is all about... In the way that they shot the film, it’s not really a one-shot, but it has that feel of a continuous experience. It was definitely a big inspiration for me.
