Wim Wenders (German: [ˈvɪm ˈvɛndɐs]; born Wilhelm Ernst Wenders; 14 August 1945) is a German filmmaker and photographer. Regarded as a major figure of New German Cinema and widely considered an auteur director, he has received various accolades, including a BAFTA Award, a Palme d'Or, a Golden Lion, and an Honorary Golden Bear, in addition to nominations for four Academy Awards and a Grammy Award. Wenders made his feature film debut with Summer in the City (1970).

Wim Wenders' 'Paris, Texas' was one of my favorites, and a huge inspiration. His anamorphic photography, the way he captures landscape and the emptiness of America, I wanted to recreate that feeling.
