Synopsis
The Resistance builds in numbers as humans are freed from the Matrix and brought to the city of Zion. Neo discovers his superpowers, including the ability to see the code inside the Matrix. With machine sentinels digging to Zion in 72 hours, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity must find the Keymaker to ultimately reach the Source.

The Wachowskis showed Ghost in the Shell to producer Joel Silver and said: we want to do that for real. Mamoru Oshii's anime became the template for the Matrix's visual philosophy — the merging of biological and digital, the question of consciousness in mechanical systems. They then hired legendary Hong Kong choreographer Yuen Woo-ping to ground it in physical reality. The result is world cinema DNA running through American blockbuster. Ghost in the Shell is on MUBI.
